Natural Capital Tool

We partnered with NatureScot to create the Natural Capital Tool (NCT): A free, user-friendly geospatial tool helping land managers and decision-makers across Scotland take a natural capital approach.

The NCT makes it easy to factor nature’s benefits into planning policy, such as clean water, carbon storage and recreation. Users can assess the environmental, social, and economic value of land, and explore how different decisions impact these benefits.

This collaboration empowers more informed, sustainable land-use choices - supporting the protection of Scotland’s natural assets for generations to come.

Nature Finance Exchange

We partnered with NatureScot to deliver Nature Finance Exchange (NFE): a digital platform connecting nature-based projects across Scotland with investors ready to fund them.

NFE makes it easy to discover and assess opportunities by allowing browsing environmental projects in a grid view and in an interactive map. The project profiles give detailed insights into the programmes and a secure handshake process allows investors and project owners to safely connect, while a straightforward submission flow helps bring new projects onto the platform.

The result is a more accessible, transparent way to channel investment into nature recovery and sustainable growth.

Trustable AI Mapping

Led by EOLAS Insight and funded by Innovate UK, the Trustable AI Mapping (TAiM) project brings together experts from Agrimetrics, Highlands Rewilding, The James Hutton Institute, and Omanos Analytics.

The goal of TAiM was to make AI-powered habitat mapping faster and more dependable - empowering land managers, ecologists, and policymakers to make confident, informed decisions.

New standards were set for evaluating the accuracy, reliability, and transparency of AI in environmental monitoring. This was achieved by developing standardised evaluation frameworks, creating high-quality validation datasets, and promoting open and trustworthy AI practices. The TAiM public platform includes a map accuracy portal that compares AI-generated outputs with real-world field data, and a knowledge base featuring best practices, tools, and case studies.
